LASER CUTTING - Final design on Jacket back

Although I really liked the original kerfing design that I laser cut in week one, the main observation that I had with it was that it was too weak and would snap under pressure. I decided to laser cut a design on the back instead. I used the same motif's as in week 2 on the vinyl cutter (the chess pieces) and found that this was very effective.

I decided to save the remaining pieces from the cut and use them in the digital embroidery. Now that the back of the jacket was cut, I was able to use the insertion stitch to piece together the front of the jacket. I used the stitch that I tested out in the first week.

Using the zero waste block pattern as a base, I have pieced together the bodice of the jacket to create a new shape, that features this stitch as a design feature.

The final step in the jacket is to embroider the sleeves and attach them using the nickel tabs that I trialed in the first week. I have decided to name this jacket "Frankenstitch" as it has been melded together with so many different pieces!
